About Us

Sit down at the bar on North Front Street and something happens that you don't find everywhere anymore: someone introduces themselves, explains the dice game going on at the far end, and before long a member has bought you a drink. That's the reputation Elks Lodge #405 has built in Marquette, and the reviews back it up. Bartenders like Pam know regulars by name and first-timers by instinct, steering visitors toward the best restaurants in town with the confidence of someone who's lived here forever.

The lodge sits a short walk from Lake Superior's waterfront, and the crowd inside reflects the UP's no-nonsense warmth. You'll find wheelchair-accessible entrances, hearty chicken dinners served with two sides, and canned beers served ice-cold. Nobody here makes a production out of hospitality. They just do it.

What We Offer

The lodge runs a full-service bar where the drinks are honest and the conversation is free. Weekly dinners anchor the calendar, with rotating comfort-food menus that draw both members and guests. The chicken dinner has become a signature, but the kitchen keeps things interesting throughout the season.

Beyond the bar and dining room, Lodge #405 hosts fraternal events, charitable fundraisers, and community programs that connect Marquette residents across generations. The facilities are available for member gatherings, and the lodge maintains ties to the national Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks network, meaning traveling Elks can stop in, show their card, and feel at home from the moment they walk through the door.

"Visit with my wife and did not enjoy. There were about 8 members at the bar. Bartender was Great. Members did not speak to us or acknowledge us. Bartender could not have been nicer. Think her name was Diane ? Not a friendly club to visiting Elks."

"Only concern is that they have a steep ramp to enter the main area of the club... Not user friendly for those who use walkers or have problems walking in an uphill or downhill position."

A Proud Heritage

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
